- Second quarter 2014 shows growth of more than eleven percent in Western Europe"s monitor market
- With a joint growth rate of more than 18 percent, AOC and MMD, license partner for Philips monitors, outperformed the market in Western Europe.
- AOC and Philips together actually reach a market share of nearly twelve percent in Western Europe

Amsterdam, 30 September 2014: According to the latest figures from analyst Context, the European monitor market continues to develop inconsistently: while Western Europe grew by more than eleven percent in the second quarter of 2014 compared to the same period last year, some Eastern European markets are further influenced by consumer and customer uncertainty, resulting in lower demand. The overall European market is slightly growing. Despite these challenges, AOC and MMD, license partner for Philips monitors, performed better than the rest of the market - in Western Europe as well as in Eastern Europe - and grew by more than four percent in the entire European market compared to the same period last year. With a growth of more than 13 percent, AOC contributed strongly to this success. AOC and MMD are subsidiaries of the world's leading display manufacturer TPV.

"Our flexible strategy pays off again", says Thomas Schade, Vice President EMEA of AOC and MMD. "In Western Europe, we could more than others take advantage of a growing market, and our decrease in Eastern Europe was much lower than the general market decrease. In Western Europe we outperformed the market by seven percent, in Eastern Europe by more than eight percent. In both regions we could convince with our customer centric and innovation driven approach. Our 28" 4K UltraClear UHD monitor and new categories like our Android-based All-in-One display are just two examples. With innovations we recently announced, like NVIDIA®G-SYNC™ monitors for the gaming segment, large 32" and 40" 4K displays from Philips and the revolutionary SoftBlue technology which protects the eyes from potentially harmful blue light, we demonstrate once again our innovation strategy", Schade continues.
In the UK, the market grew rapidly by more than 18 percent. AOC and Philips monitors together grew by nearly 30 percent. With a growth rate of more than 75 percent, Philips branded monitors contributed strongly to the successful development.
